The sculptor succeeds Louise Bourgeois and the late Juan Muñoz

Anish Kapoor has been commissioned to produce a new work for the Turbine Hall in the Unilever sponsored series at London’s Tate Modern. Kapoor has made gigantic art before; his 1999 “Taratantara” filled the interior space of the Baltic Mill in Newcastle with 170 feet of red PVC. In tackling the challenging space inside Tate Modern, Kapoor succeeds Louise Bourgeois and the late Juan Muñoz. The installation will be unveiled in October and Kapoor says that he has already spent two months considering the project.
