One of the last works by Leonardo da Vinci still in private hands will be sold in London by Christie’s in July. “Horse and rider”, a preparatory study for Leonardo’s first great composition, “The adoration of the Magi”, is being sold by the former director of the National Gallery of Washington, J. Carter Brown. The work is expected to fetch over £3.5 million when it is put up for auction in London
