What's on: “Treasures of deceit: archaeology and the forger’s craft”

Visitors are invited to pit their wits against the scientists, archaeologists and art historians in determining whether a work of art is a genuine antiquity or modern forgery. “Treasures of deceit: archaeology and the forger’s craft” features twenty-eight works, including gold objects, jewellery and marble sculptures, some genuine, others reworked or faked. The displays use x-ray photographs and ultraviolet light, gallery-goers can even change the labeling themselves, encouraging closer inspection of the works.
