Between the site of Art 28/97 and the Kunstmuseum, in the former Warteck brewery, the fair devoted to younger galleries will be organised for the second year running. Thirty-six galleries are appearing, including Galleria S.A.L.E.S, Rome; Paolo Vitolo, Milan; the Cabinet Gallery, The Agency, Robert Prime and Antony Wilkinson–all from London; the French galleries Météo, Anne de Villepoix, Air de Paris and Praz-Delavallade; and the Americans Jack Hanley, Casey Kaplan and Morris-Healy. The stands in this fair cost only SFr 4,000. The brewery is decorated in minimalist style by the Austrian artist Gerwald Rockenschaub.

The high quality of the exhibits is assured by a selection committee consisting of Eva Pressenhueber (Galerie Walcheturm, Zurich), Peter Kilchmann (Galerie Kilchmann, Zurich) and Peter Bläuer, the art critic from Basel. In 1996 ‘Liste’, which is associated with ‘Art’, introduced a number of young artists in a convivial setting. This year the restaurant and bar will stay open until late and parties will be organised on the Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday of the fair to try and bring some life to the quiet nights of this Calvinist city.
