The County Museum of Art shows its devotion to collectors this summer, with an exhibition of French art, beginning 9 June. Corot, Monet, Manet, Pissarro, Renoir, Vuillard, Léger, Braque, Picasso and Matisse are among the stars of the show, which is described as “a celebration of the distinguished tradition in Southern California of collecting art from this key period”. “Monet to Matisse: French Art in Southern California Collections” will include more than one hundred paintings and continues until 11 August. The show is curated by Philip Conisbee and Judi Freeman, assisted by Richard Rand and Victor I. Carlson. A fully-illustrated catalogue accompanies the exhibition.
